Haryana Raises Academic Eligibility For Future Recruitment To Gram Sachiv

The government of Haryana has raised the barriers for future recruitment to the Gram Sachiv position, so graduation is the minimum academic eligibility.

Previously, the minimum educational qualification for the position was enrollment. With the rules changed, the candidate must also have a diploma in panchayati raj and knowledge of information technology.

At a meeting to review different plans held today under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in Chandigarh, a decision was made in this regard.
The Minister of Development and Panchayats, O P Dhankar, was also present at the meeting.

The prime minister said that the number of gram Sachiv publications would also increase. Currently, there are approximately 2,200 Gram Sachiv in the state, while, it has more than 6,000 panchayats villagers.

There should be a gram sachiv for a large panchayat and a gram sachiv for two small panchayats, Khattar said, according to an official statement.

He said there are 2,294 conglomerates in the state under which 1,783 Gram Sachivalyas have been established and are functional. Of those, he said, funds have been allocated to 511.
